KEVIN YORK RETURNS TO CAMP MOTORSPORT AS CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

6 March 2008 | Danville, Virginia

Camp Motorsport announces the return of Kevin York as Chief Instructor for the 2008 season!

Camp Motorsport - a race car driving sports specialty summer camp for kids ages 10-16 - is a unique fusion of racing school, life-skills development, and traditional summer camp. “This camp is really about teaching kids how to be good drivers for their future, regular day-to-day street driving. However, it’s provided in the fun context of a motorsport paradigm.” notes York. “Additionally, the driving instruction at camp is provided in a way that will help kids develop their emotional intelligence. They build confidence and learn to respond with good reactions while striving for precision.”

“We are very excited that Kevin will be returning to oversee the driving instruction component of our program.” shares Camp Director Diane Tyrrell. “He is an excellent instructor; his methods of teaching and coaching the campers are a perfect match for our program. He has the ability to nurture each child’s driving skills - and their understanding of them - and give them the right kind of encouragement and challenges to help them progress to personal success.”

TOP SIX FINISH FOR YORK IN 2008 KONI CHALLENGE SERIES DEBUT

Teammates York and Miller advance through field for great result.

26 January 2008 | Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach Florida

Starting from deep in the 97 car field of the Grand Am KONI Challenge Series’ season-opening race, Kevin York of Compass360 Racing (C360R) knew he’d have lots of work to do in order to move to the front.

Without any hesitation, his first moves were made on the opening lap with York passing several competitors’ cars.

York advanced into the top fifteen of cars in the Street Tuner (ST) class when, near the mid-point of the three-hour race, a fortuitous caution period occurred on track.

The C360R team took the opportunity to provide service pit stops and driver changes to all three of their Acura TSXs.

York handed an unscathed car over to co-driver Christian Miller – who continued the charge forward during his stint. Miller drove smartly to fifth place until a long brake pedal on the #75 GoEnzo.com, 034 Motorsport, C360R TSX did not allow him the normally-present great braking of the car. As a consequence, a competitor slipped by, placing Miller in sixth position at the race’s end – which occurred under yellow flag conditions.

All of the Compass360 Racing’s team cars finished in the top ten. This was a remarkably strong showing at the season’s first race. Karl Thomson and Travis Walker finished third, York and Miller in sixth and Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood, 2007 ST champions, finished ninth.

YORK Motorsport Uses SpinVox Blog to Connect with Race Fans

SpinVox, the global leader in Voice-to-Screen messaging, announced today that race car driver and coach Kevin York will use the SpinVox Blog voice-to-text blog service to maintain and update his personal Web site while on the road with the Grand American 2008 Koni Challenge Series which debuts later this week.

Atlanta – January 24, 2008 – By using SpinVox Blog, York will be able to speak entries, updates and news into any phone, on any network and have them converted in text and posted to the YORK Motorsport Web site – www.yorkmotorsport.com/koni.

“Connecting with the fans and keeping them informed and interested throughout the race season has always been a priority of YORK Motorsport,” said York. “We’ve done a good job through our Web site of providing news and information. However, by integrating SpinVox Blog we’re able to enhance it and offer an all-access pass as there are essentially no limitations as to where we can post entries from. As a race car driver always on the move, I no longer have to wait to be back at a computer terminal with an Internet connection to stay connected with our fans and can now share thoughts and insights on events as they happen.”

KEVIN YORK ON PACE WITH NEW TEAM AT DAYTONA TESTING

12 January 2008 | Charlotte, NC

With many new and challenging firsts to encounter, Kevin York traveled to Daytona International Speedway recently for pre-season testing for the Grand Am’s KONI Challenge Series.

With his new team, Compass360/Racing, Kevin had a new group of crew members and driving teammates to meet. Important among those to get acquainted with was new co-driver, Christian Miller.

Of course, another important member of the team was there also – the C360R Acura TSX #75.

“I was immediately comfortable in the car,” enthused York. “C360R crew chief, Ray Lee, clearly has great ability to assemble a first-class car. The crew and he worked hard and smart all weekend long as I and my teammates came to grips with testing.”

“Each session was an opportunity for me to learn more about the TSX. I certainly feel that it’s going to be a competitive platform this season.” noted York.

Indeed, York was eighth fastest in Sunday’s afternoon session, five-hundredths of a second from the pace of fellow C360R teammate and 2007 KONI Challenge Series champion, Adam Burrows.

The Compass360/Racing team will be ready for the 2008 KONI Challenge Series' first race to be held at Daytona International Speedway on January 25.
