Successful Day of Testing for Evan at Carolina Motorsports Park
Evan tests CRG/ROTAX to good effect at new karting facility.
With over four hours of track time, Evan was able to come up to speed quickly with both a new track and new kart combination today.
With kart owner and tuner J.Robert, and Evan's dad as coach and spotter, Evan was able to not only learn the new track but begin to build a knowledge base for - the almost inevitable fact of - future WKA national-level kart racing at Carolina Motorsports Park's new state-of-the-art karting track.
"I couldn't be more pleased with how today went." enthused Evan at day's end. "With Jason's and my dad's help, today was a success. I enjoyed not only the track but the additional horsepower that the ROTAX engine offers over my regular HPV. I look forward to racing here!"

"I can't wait to drive down the new straightaway at top speed," said York, currently recognized as one of America’s top indoor kart racing drivers. "We’ve been anticipating this new outdoor kart track at CMP for a long time. To be able to participate in the debut weekend is awesome. We’ll be working on our outdoor karting program and testing some set-up options for the new track.”
The multi-directional track will have countless configurations including 16 turns and a 760-foot straightaway with a 26 ft. wide surface. Along with being one of a mere handful in the southeast, and the only one in South Carolina, the track will also be sanctioned by the World Karting Association.
According to track manager, Jochen Tartak, “...we are thrilled to put a national caliber track in…”
