Finished! Evan York and Dad Finish 24 Hours of Charlotte

While the result certainly was not what team fingerprint inc. was after, great racing and lots of fun ensued at the 2009 24 Hours of Charlotte.
Putting a frustrating Friday night qualifying behind him, YORK Motorsport driver - and fingerprint inc. "ringer" - Evan York started the karting endurance race for the team from the thirteenth spot.
Driving in his signature methodical yet aggressive manner, Evan moved up through the field.
After his double stint Evan handed the kart over to his dad, Kevin York. Kevin maintained the improved position and handed over the kart once more to Evan.
At the end of the first three hours of the event, Evan and Kevin had collectively brought the fingerprint inc. entry well inside the top ten!

YORK Motorsport Entered in VLK 24 Hours of Charlotte Endurance Race

Father and son duo, Kevin and Evan York have again been recruited by Jade Gurss and his fingerprint inc. team; this time for the 24 Hours of Charlotte @ Victory Lane Karting endurance race.
Victory Lane Karting (VLK) - an indoor race facility located in Charlotte, NC - will be hosting their second annual twenty-four hour endurance race on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
The event will begin on Saturday, May 23rd at nine am and conclude twenty-four fun - and fast-paced - hours later at nine am on Sunday, May 24th!
One of the premier endurance karting events in North America, Victory Lane Indoor Karting will show the competitors a few new twists and turns, thanks to a 15,000 sq. ft. track expansion and new generation Sodikart RX-7 racing karts.
Last year’s inaugural event was marked by a pass to win with less than 45 minutes remaining, and finished with just 11 seconds separating the winning team from second place.
Joining Grand Am competitor Kevin and front-running kart racer Evan, will be a top group of drivers from around North America.
Already entered are reigning U.S. Indoor Karting Champion Mike Smith and returning 24 Hour of Charlotte race winner Dan Burke. Both of those drivers finished among the top-10 in the 2008 World Indoor Karting Championships.
Home track advantage will be minimized during the 24 Hours of Charlotte, as all the karts are identical and assigned randomly. Additionally, kart equality will be maximized as the teams will switch karts at each fuel stop.

Evan Finishes NCIKC Strongly With Round 8 Heat Win
With two fourths and a one dominating win, Evan completed three heats successfully enough to enter today's Final of the 2009 North Carolina Indoor Karting Championship.
While Evan did not win the Overall Championship, a strong top-10 finish in the overall standings is very noteworthy.
Congratulations go out to Jordan Pembleton, the overall winner of the NCIKC! He'll be going to the Indoor Karting World Championships in Brazil this coming August - good luck Jordan!

Dramatic Win for Evan York at Round 7 of NCIKC
With a win and three heat podiums, Evan posts fastest time of day and passes to win on last lap of Final
(Charlotte, NC) 4 May 2009—Following a disappointing Round 6 of the North Carolina Indoor Karting Championship (NCIKC), Evan York was focused on his personal performance and eager for Round 7 at Rush Hour Karting in Garner, NC.
With determined patience, Evan drove brilliantly in his three preliminary heats that resulted in three podium finishes – one of which was a win.
Starting the Final from the outside front row position, Evan was certain to have a challenging race ahead of him.
With veteran racer Scott Bulger directly behind him, Evan gave chase to Adrian Smith who had started from pole position.
“I knew I couldn’t rest for a moment as I shadowed Adrian trying to find a weak spot in his driving,” said Evan. “Scott is such an experienced driver; I knew he’d be doing the same to me!”
Starting the penultimate lap it seemed Evan was going to finish in the second position. However, it turned out that he had different plans.
“I had found a couple spots I felt that I was faster than Adrian in,” said Evan, who hadn’t won a Final round yet. “I saw the opening that Adrian left and I went for it. Holding on for the win was a terrific feeling I can tell you!”
Entering the event, Evan was twelfth of thirty-nine drivers in the overall NCIKC championship standings. His performances netted him a significant upward movement in those standings and heads into the final round of the Championship now in seventh.
This event was one of the more equal and competitive events of the NCIKC. Rush Hour Karting worked hard to provide very well prepared and evenly matched Sodikart RX7s for the race meeting. As a matter of fact, the average time spread in the Final was only four-tenths of a second.
The North Carolina Indoor Karting Championship returns to Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte, NC on Sunday May 10 for its final and deciding round.
