WCTC Sign Kevin York for 2010 Spokane Grand Prix
West Coast Touring Cars taps Kevin York For Multiple Races
Held at Spokane County Raceway - likely during seasonally hot summer weather - the race should prove to be as challenging as any.
"I'm very pleased that Rob Dunn of West Coast Touring Cars has invited us to drive one of his racing cars once again. I'll be driving WCTC'S Dodge ACR that I've raced many times before. I'll be racing in as many as three classes potentially. For this event WCTC have brought in John McDermott to be my car chief and strategist - that is a huge benefit. Could be a busy weekend! The racing in Conference is very competitive and I enjoy that. Also, Spokane County Raceway is one of my favorite road-racing courses in the Northwest!" noted York.
The double-race weekend - held July 9-11 - will be rounds eight and nine of a fourteen-round series that stretches from April to October. The series is sanctioned by the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC). The ICSCC was founded in 1957 and is the largest sports car racing sanctioning body in the Pacific Northwest. It consists of five member and five affiliate clubs in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. www.icscc.com
Spokane County Motorsports Park features a 2.5 mile road course. It consists of the longest straight in the Northwest, some challenging medium-speed corners with elevation change, and some tight technical segments. The pavement is very smooth, and consistent, making it a great facility for motorsport. Among drivers, Spokane County Raceway is routinely ranked a favorite. www.spokanecountyraceway.com
