During the second minute of a six-hour race, with Kevin York driving, the West Coast Touring Cars "YorDunFor" PRO3 BMW racing car suffered an engine valvetrain failure.

After nursing the car around the track and back to the paddock area, the WCTC crew - led by John McDermott of WCTC sponsor Car Tender - set to work.

After a miraculous repair performed in record time, York returned to the track to complete his long stint - setting class-competitive times in so doing.

The first driver change found Paul Forgey getting in for his driving time. Paul was met with wet weather and he faced it well driving consistent and careful laps in the increasing dampness.

WCTC team principal Rob Dunn hopped in for the sprint to the finish. The wet weather turned into a deluge - so much so that the race was called complete fifteen minutes shy of the full six hour mark.

In the end, WCTC finished a respectable fourth place in class against the likes of other excellent cars and drivers - such as BimmerWorld owner James Clay of SCCA Pro Racing and Grand Am fame who was driving a brand new PRO3 car in the event.

More details to follow soon...
