Grand Am competitor and VIRginia International Raceway regular, Kevin York drove one of VIR’s official Volkswagen R32 Pace Cars this past weekend during multiple on-track activities.

In addition to pacing some of the competitive events, Kevin served as Lead Instructor for a very unique fan-appreciation activity.

Fans with three-day tickets for the Bosch Engineering 250 were able to drive the track Sunday morning in their own cars as led by Kevin.

"The track drives let fans see the track from the drivers' perspective. We wanted everyone to be able to experience the sport to the fullest and to keep coming back for more.” said track general manager Josh Lief.

“In my time racing here at VIR as well as all the time spent in my past role as Chief Instructor at the track’s Camp Motorsport, I’ve grown very fond of this place.” noted York just before the weekend. “Being asked by Josh to drive the VW pace car as well as facilitating a unique on-track experience for racing fans gives me a great deal of pleasure.”
