KEVIN YORK RETURNS TO ENDURANCE CLASSIC; EIGHT HOURS OF THE CASCADES
Prior winner joins West Coast Touring Cars for thirty-first annual classic endurance race

17 February 2007| Madison, Wisconsin

Kevin York of YORK Motorsport today announced that he has made plans to return to competition at the Eight Hours of the Cascades sports car endurance race at Portland International Raceway on 17 March 2007.

This 31st Eight Hours of the Cascades is one of the United States oldest, continuously running sports car endurance races. It is the only one to continue use of the traditional "Le Mans" start.

Sanctioned by the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC), under the 2007 regulations as a non-championship race, and organized by the Cascade Sports Car Club, the race is a very popular event for Pacific Northwest sports car teams.

York, as a 2004 Eight Hours P3 class-winner, is pleased to have been asked to join West Coast Touring Cars (WCTC) for this year's event. Co-drivers from WCTC will be 2005 SCCA Northwest Region ITA class champion, Rob Dunn and car owner Paul Forgey.

"I really enjoy the true teamwork atmosphere that sports car endurance racing offers." Kevin remarked at the weekend. "Most especially, it will be fun to run with Rob and Paul in an event that I have come to enjoy very much. Additionally, it will give me an opportunity to have a bit of a warm-up prior to my forthcoming Grand Am events."

Kevin York of YORK Motorsport has been a motorsport competitor, instructor, and coach for nearly two decades. He has been or is licensed by FIA, ACCUS, USAC, ICSCC, and Grand Am. For information, see www.yorkmotorsport.com or http://york-group.net

West Coast Touring Cars (WCTC) is an informal grouping of sports car racers set on having fun and being champions all at the same time. Rob Dunn and Paul Forgey, as team principals, race regularly in SCCA and ICSCC competition. For information, see www.westcoasttouringcars.com

Portland International Raceway is a twelve turn, 1.967 mile road course, located five miles north of Portland, Oregon. Sanctioning bodies using the facility include Champ Car, IMSA, NASCAR, SCCA, PCA, and ICSCC.

Race day is Saturday, March 17th 2007 with the race starting at noon and running into the evening to a conclusion at eight p.m. (PST)

Partners with York for the event are Hyundai Star Program, Midwest HANS Inc., The Shock Doctor JANS device, N138.net, and YORK Group.
