Kevin York casts gaze back to open-wheeled racing

18 April 2006 - Seattle, WA / Madison, WI
In that Kevin York of YORK Motorsport initiated his motorsport adventure in open-wheeled racing cars, it's natural to find him considering a return to competition in them.
To that end, the Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship has gained Kevin's interest.
The Championship features modern, open-wheel race cars powered by either four-cylinder, double-overhead cam, fuel-injected 2.0-liter Ford Zetec engines, which produce around 160hp, or an earlier, slightly less powerful, carbureted 2.0-liter Ford engines which will be vying for Cooper Gold Cup honors. All cars employ "slick" (treadless) Cooper Zeon racing tires and are capable of speeds in excess of 140mph.
Talks with Series' teams have been initiated and Kevin is looking to the Portland, Mosport, and Road America rounds of this exciting and competitive racing series.
Stay tuned!
